TLIC0023 - Operate four wheel drive vehicle
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course utilises a four-wheel drive vehicle and provides instruction, practice and certification for safe four-wheel drive operation.
This course develops skills for the safe prechecking of the vehicle prior to use, the driving skills and shut down process when using a four-wheel drive vehicle for either recreational purposes or as a part of a person’s employment.
Driving involves the application of four-wheel drive vehicle operating principles and procedures to maintain the safety and operation of a four-wheel drive vehicle across a variety of on-road and off-road contexts.
It includes driving a four-wheel drive vehicle on:

roads
-
traversing gradients
-
ascending and descending steep gradients
-
and operating in rugged terrain.

It also includes using vehicle equipment/controls and completing pre- and post-operational checks.
COURSE DURATION
This is a two (2) day course.

The first day is a knowledge session
-
The second day is a practical session and performance assessment
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to apply for a licence you must:.

be over 18 years of age unless is required by their employer as a traineeship/ apprenticeship or authorised by a parent or guardian.

hold a current NT "Class C" licence
-
successfully complete the pre -enrolment and LLN assessment.
