TLIA1001 – Secure cargo

COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to secure cargo in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements as part of work activities within the transport and logistics industry.

This course includes:

  • preparing to secure cargo/containers

  • lashing and unlashing cargo

  • protecting cargo from weather

  • and packing and unpacking cargo.

 

COURSE DURATION

This is a one day course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to apply for a licence you must:.

  •  be at least 18 years unless it is required by their employer as a traineeship/ apprenticeship or authorised by a parent or guardian

  • successfully complete the pre -enrolment and LLN assessment

  • Nominate and have approved by Northern Territory Training Services a suitable workplace that has all the required resources to complete the course;

  • Have completed TLIF1001 Follow work health and safety procedures.

TLID0021 - Store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances 

COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances.

Work is performed under general supervision.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

This course includes:

  •  identifying requirements for working with dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances

  • confirming site incident procedures and selecting handling techniques in accordance with relevant work health safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations concerning

  • the safe handling of dangerous goods and hazardous substances within the transport and logistics industry.

COURSE DURATION

This is a one day course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to apply for a licence you must:.

  •  be at least 18 years unless it is required by their employer as a traineeship/ apprenticeship or authorised by a parent or guardian

COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to load and unload goods and cargo in accordance with relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority regulations/permit requirements.

Work is performed under general supervision.

This course includes:

  • loading and unloading goods and cargo

  • securing and protecting a load and completing all required documentation.

 

COURSE DURATION

This is a one day course.
